		About Me

	I am currently working as Lecturer , Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Trivandrum, Kerala, India, a premier institution that focuses on empirical social science research. Here at CDS my academic activities involve research, teaching and research guidance. The focus of my current research is on labour economics, industrial economics, regional and urban economics, technology and innovation, and development economics. Research undertaken are both project based and independent interest based. Some of the projects that I have been recently involved with were on Industry-Academia interface and innovative activities; Labour market flexibility and economic growth; and Decent Work in ICT Sector. This apart I conduct lectures for M.Phil students on 'Regional Perspectives in Indian Economy' (jointly with Prof.K.J.Joseph) and 'Labour and Development' (jointly with Prof. Irudaya Rajan). I am also involved in supervising the dissertation works of M.Phil and Ph.D scholars. After my Post graduation in Development Economics , from Pondicherry University I joined Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi for the M.Phil programme at Centre for the Study of Regional Development.Thereafter, pursued Ph.D on the broad topic of labour market in the ICT industry. After submission of the dissertation in 2005, I had a brief stint at Institute for Studies in Industrial Development, New Delhi as Assistant Professor before I joined CDS.. Till date I have published two books, and a number of articles in international and national journals.I was also awarded the Sanjay Thakur Young Labour Economist Award for year 2007.
